I am so ready to garden outside. I have big plans for my garden and I am so excited at the thought of having fresh fruits and vegetables available to me. Anyone else dream of that? Anyway, I got so excited this weekend that I asked AJ nicely(with pouty eyes and lips) to please start on my box.
He set up shop in the garage and went to work. First things first, he had to break down this large solid wood to put together this box.
He broke it down and bolted it together. It took about an hour to put it together. We will put a finish on it and make it look pretty. Now I am forced to prepare to start my research on planting greens. Swiss chard and collard greens are my greens of choice.
(I purchased these seeds from Home Depot.)
Since it gets really hot here, Collards and Swiss Chard are heat tolerant vegetables making for a good summer harvest.
It is towards the end of Winter, beginning Spring and I googled that I should plant the seeds after the last Frost date in my area. In my area, that won't be towards the end of March.
I will be back to walk you through this process and share with you what all I did.
Peace, Love and Blessings!
